Great Barrier Reef Diving

I flew up to Cairns last week and quickly found myself on a boat to spend a few days on the Great Barrier Reef.

Diving on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia

Night diving with a bunch of reef sharks:

Night Diving on the GBR

The mantra for the week was ‘reef sharks don’t eat people, reef sharks don’t eat people, reef sharks don’t eat people.’  It was amazing to see them and 3000 other types of animals on every dive.  In 3 days I clocked just over 340 minutes underwater.  Almost 6 hours, and I’m now PADI certified.

The pictures from the actual dives are on a CD, and with only my MacBook Air I can’t upload them just yet.

Two weeks left in Australia.  Then Los Angelas, San Francisco, Boulder, Austin for SXSW and NYC.  Say hello if I’ll be near you!

What a great place to get certified. It’s beautiful underwater. Next go to Turks and Caicos.

Sweet! I describe GBR as like being in a National Geographic special.
