Boulder Code For America

Code For America is something I am really looking forward to.  There is a lot of inefficiency in government, and a lot of momentum by the open movement.  Our friends at O’Reilly have been pressing the issue for years:

Code for America was itself inspired in part by my mentor Tim O’Reilly exhorting us all to attempt bigger, harder, more important problems; this theme in his work came first as a call to hackers to “work on stuff that matters” and more poetically to “being defeated, decisively, by constantly greater beings” in his ETech keynote in 2008.

There will be an 11 month program that you can be a part of.  Fellow applications are open now.  You get to help the city, expand your network and work on things that matter.  Sounds very good to me.
