This is a guest post by the fantastic Jun Loayza in response to my Anti Writer post
I started my blog because I love to write. I want to express my emotions, feelings, desires, dreams, and wants. I want people to care about me and know what I’m doing.
But for some reason, I don’t like to read.
I don’t have the patience to sit through a 900+ word blog post about something I already know. What, you write about personal development? Oh, so I’m supposed to be confident when I make a public speech? Please… do me a favor and teach me something I don’t know.
Don’t speak in generalities; I have no patience for them. Give me actionable steps. Give me advice that I can implement tonight and see results tomorrow. Don’t just regurgitate news; add a twist of flavor that is unique.
I love to build relationships; I love to build community.
So I do read. I subscribe, comment, email, and connect with people who I admire. I read, not because I like to, but because it is who I am.
I want to build a relationship with you, so I’ll read your blog. If I like it, I will subscribe. If I’m not impressed, I will reach out anyway because as a fellow blogger, you deserve to be commended for putting your ideas, thoughts, and opinions out for the public to see.
I will continue to read because I want you to read what I have to say.
I am the anti-reader.
