My 2011 TED and SXSW Business Card

I love playing around with business cards.  Every SXSW I make it a point to put out a new card.  This year I was lucky enough to go to SXSW and TEDactive, and this card worked really well for both events.

Here is the card, some explanation below.

Perhaps not the ultimate business card, but an attempt.  It is curly maple letterpresses with very minimal information.  Just my name with a dot in it.  Very thin (as you can see by the bottom picture) but sturdy.  Every card has a photo from my travels on the back.  There is just a portion of my name on the top of the card, so when it sits in your wallet, it looks like my name is popping out (this works as the card is just that much taller than a standard card).

The card was made by Justin Fuller of Good Apples and Allison Bozeman or Bird Dog Press.  They were amazing to work with and I think the final product really shows.

Also, a wooden card leads to interesting conversations like if you can karate chop it.  Turns out, no:

Glad that I was able to get one. Get busy living, or get busy dying is also a great phrase to have on your card. At least I thought so.

LOVE letterpress. I’ve never seen it done on wood though – nice touch. Very distinctive.
