I love Southwest Airlines and started researching all the new international destinations they have (Belize, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica and Puerto Rico).
Their tools are a bit behind and searching for fares is still a bit tough so I thought I’d detail out what I’ve figured out and you can let me know in the comments.
International cities:
BZE – Belize City (planned October 2015)
CUN – Cancún
MEX – Mexico City
MBJ – Montego Bay
NAS – Nassau
AUA – Oranjestad, Aruba
PVR – Puerto Vallarta (planned June 2015)
PUJ – Punta Cana
SJO – San José (planned March 2015)
SJD – San José del Cabo
SJU – San Juan
When searching for tickets to fly to these great places I found a lot of errors, like this one:
“Flights from Denver – DEN to Mexico City – MEX are not scheduled to operate on 01/20/2015. Please select an alternate date or choose another origination/destination. Please visit the Southwest Airlines interactive route map for alternate choices. (SW100105-bw63deL3SrS7NUdbWHL2lg)”

*I think the departing flight is an error and will eventually match the return of $226 or 9030 points and tax

- I was able to get to the booking screen for each quoted fare.
- Lots of great looking places with some extremely low points booking options (under 10,000 points is amazing).
- There are some odd things that I’m sure are being ironed out such as very limited departure dates with plenty of return dates like this screenshot:
- The direct flights from DEN are by far the cheapest
- The cash price for these flights seems quite high but the points bookings make them seem reasonable
What did I miss?
Edit: also to note these are all the under 5000 point one way cities:
