The “Spam & Insult” Gmail Plugin

More than a few people use the Gmail “spam” button as not referring to spam in the “a unwanted email” sense and more of a “this person is an idiot” way.

So I sat down and decided to do what is best, for the community. I created a plugin that wouldn’t just mark the email as spam, it would also send them an insult.

spam-and-insult

You can pick out from 100 insults I wrote, generally targeting Public Relations smamiots.

“I just wish your email spam didn’t reflect your holiday cooking.”

“Are you sure you know how email works? You forgot to cc everyone in your press list.”

“Have you considered a job in the industry you are not working?”

You can install it here.

Great critique of the obsession with “release first, iterate improvements later”

Why not “spam and help provide constructive feedback”? I hate PR emails as much as the next guy but I’d rather be known in life as the “nice guy who wrote something helpful back” rather than “that ass”.
